Birdwatching in Ostpark (6-13 years old, English)

Birdwatching is the sighting and recognition of bird species in their natural environment, as well as the hearing and identification of their songs. This is one of the best ways to approach nature and it involves everyone!

This workshop is for:

  • children who want to start bird watching, but don`t know where to start

  • children & parents who want to discover and learn more about birds, nests, songs, feathers

  • parents who want to benefit from the outdoors and restore their body and mind from everyday stress and pressures

This workshop will help you develop the foundational skills needed to start birding. You will learn how to identify birds using their calls, shape, size, colours, their flights, nests, feathers, behaviours and habitats. You will learn how to sketch a bird, use watercolours, and how to use a binocular and field guide books. The workshop will focus on the most common birds found in Bavarian parks and rivers.

Meeting point: The session is conducted in Ostpark. I will contact you directly about the meeting place details 2-3 days before.

Age: 6-13 years old

Duration: 2 hours

Number of bookings:  a max of 6 children

Parents/grandparents join for free. a max of 2 adults for each child

What is provided: Field guides, binoculars, notebooks, watercolors

What to bring: comfortable and closed shoes, long trousers, backpack, water bottle, change of clothes in case kids get wet or muddy, raincoat, sun hat, sun protection.
