Birdwatching in Ostpark

Birdwatching is the sighting and recognition of bird species in their natural environment, as well as the hearing and identification of their songs, nests, eggs. This workshop is for children & parents who want to:
discover and learn more about the different birds species
search, collect and identify feathers
explore how nests are made, similarities and differences between species, and their egg colors
recognize bird songs and distinguish the various types
sketch and paint birds on a nature journal
benefit from the outdoors, restore body and mind from everyday stress and pressures
This workshop will help you develop the foundational skills needed to start birding. You will learn how to identify birds using their calls, shape, size, colors, their flights, nests, feathers, behaviors and habitats. You will learn how create a nature journal, how to sketch and paint a bird while using watercolors, how to use a binocular and field guide books. The workshop will focus on the most common birds found in Bavarian parks and rivers.
Meeting point: The session is conducted in Ostpark. I will contact you directly about the meeting place details 2-3 days before.
Age: 6-12 years old
Starting time: 10:30 am
Duration: 2 hours
Number of bookings: a max of 6 children (the event takes place if there are at least three bookings)
Parents/grandparents join for free. a max of 2 adults for each child

What is provided: Field guides, binoculars, notebooks, pencils, watercolors, & snacks
What to bring: comfortable and closed shoes, long trousers, backpack, water bottle, change of clothes in case kids get wet or muddy, raincoat, sun hat, sun protection.
